Board membership is a meaningful way to serve our community and promote Montessori ideals and philosophy. Are you interested in being part of a community that cultivates a creative & collaborative environment for children?

Puddletown Montessori School recently became a non-profit organization. We are seeking additional folks to join our Board of Directors. All applicants will be considered!

General Board responsibilities

• Commit to at least one term (2-3 years).

• Attend standing board meetings (5-6x/year; virtual and in-person in Portland, OR).

• Join opportunities for committee and workgroup involvement.

• Monitor operational finances and provide general fiduciary oversight.

• Set strategic objectives and approve documents as required by state or federal law.

• Supports and oversees the Executive Director.

Preferred experience

We are currently seeking individuals with any of the following experiences:

• Lived experience with and/or interest in Montessori education, including caregivers of learners formerly enrolled in the School and alumni of Puddletown Montessori School

• Fundraising and development in non-profit organizations

• Financial operations

• Prior non-profit board experience

• Non-profit law

• Marketing & communications

• Experience with primary education

• Experience in community-building/community engagement
